Note
that Reliability Grades for model year 2003 are based on one year of data.
Consequently, the Reliability Grades for individual models of that year are more
subject to statistical fluctuation. These early data have been provided as several
visitors have expressed interest in automobile reliability ratings of a more current model year;
however, a better guide to the reliability of motor vehicles of more current, and the most
current, model years are likely the five-year averages.
Advisory: Consumer Reports
accords Ford's 2007 F-150 pickup truck a predicted reliability in the
second-lowest category, based on the F-150's performance
in very recent years (the last three or fewer). This short-term predicted
reliability is considerably lower than what one would anticipate from the above
1998-2002 Reliability Percentrank average and may reflect a recent worsening in
the quality of this Ford product. As a general rule, and especially for Big
Three purchases, it is likely prudent to require both the most recent
5-year Reliability Percentrank average and Consumer Reports' short-term
predicted reliability meet the standards that the consumer sets.
