2005 Reliability Updates: Plunging into the Depths - The Five Worst Marques by Reliability Percentrank Average Drop from 1988 to 2001

General Motors Corporation's Cadillac line had the steepest drop in Reliability Percentrank average (RPA) from 1988 to 2001; it fell .67. However, close behind were Mercedes-Benz, with an RPA drop of .64, and Volvo, with an RPA drop of .63. More modest, but still sizable, declines were experienced by BMW, drop of .36, and Oldsmobile, drop of .32. The following table summarizes the RPA declines.
