DaimlerChrysler Recalls 1.3 Million Mercedes Worldwide

DaimlerChrysler AG is recalling 1.3 million Mercedes-Benz vehicles for voltage regulator check and, if needed, replacement, battery control software installation, and braking system update. The voltage regulator check and possible replacement involves six-cylinder and eight-cylinder vehicles, the battery control software installation involves January 2002-to-January 2005 E-class and CLS-class vehicles, and the braking system update involves June 2001-to-present E-class, SL-class, and CLS-class vehicles.
In the U.S., customers may call 1-800-FOR-MERC to enquire whether their vehicle is one being recalled. Europeans may call 800-1-777-7777.
