Toyota Dominates Consumer Reports Reliability Quick Pick List; Big Three Score Zip
Toyota Motor Corporation garnered 12 spots, or 63% of the entries, on Consumer Reports' reliability Quick Pick list. Two models were from the Lexus line - the Lexus IS300 4-door hatchback and sedan and the Lexus LS430 sedan; ten models were from the Toyota line - the Toyota Camry sedan, the Toyota Celica 2-door hatchback, the Toyota Corolla small sedan, the Toyota Echo small sedan, the Toyota Highlander mid-sized sport utility vehicle, the Toyota Land Cruiser large sport utility vehicle, the Toyota MR2 Spyder convertible sportster, the Toyota Prius gas-electric hybrid 4-door hatchback, the Toyota RAV4 small sport utility vehicle, and the Toyota Tundra full-sized pickup truck (regular cabin, extended cabin, and crew cabin). The Mazda3 has been pulled from Consumer Reports' recommended list because it earned a rating of "poor" in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's side-impact crash tests1; for the same reason, it may have been pulled from CR's Quick Pick lists as well.
