Chrysler Recalls 26,000 Dodge Durango SUVs for Potential Fuel Leak
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Chrysler will recall 26,000 2005 Dodge Durango sport utility vehicles for a filler valve that may not properly close after refueling. It noted, "Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire."
The Dodge Durango is on AOI's Worst of 1998 and Worst of 1999 lists, with Reliability Percentranks of .11 and .12, respectively. Its 1996-2000 Reliability Percentrank average is .18. (See Table I-MVRP.)
No date has been set for the commencement of the recall.
