Bosch Faulty Fuel Pumps Cause Delays and Stoppages at Mercedes and BMW Plants
Defects in Robert Bosch GmbH's diesel-fuel injection pumps have caused production stoppages at both Mercedes-Benz and BMW plants, as well as Volkswagen and Opel plants. In addition, BMW will recall 21,500 of its cars to replace the defective pumps. No breakdown by nation was provided.
On Sunday, a Bosch official stated that now "the problem is solved."1
