VW Recalls a Bunch
The Detroit News reports that Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft is recalling:
300,000 2000-2002 Golf, GTI, and Jetta cars for a hazard switch and flasher system that may degrade over time,
19,284 2004-2005 Golf, Jetta, Beetle, and Passat cars for a diesel pump that may leak.
The article dealing with the recalls gives a recall total of 369,284 vehicles; however, the recall breakdowns add up to 319,284. No explanation for the difference is provided.
In addition, it reports that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating 447,000 2001-2003 Golf, GTI, and Jetta cars for side-door airbags that may discharge improperly.
