Kia Spectra Receives Worst Frontal Crash Test Score Since 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier
The Detroit Free Press reports that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Kia Spectra the lowest frontal crash test score since that awarded the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier. A dummy-occupant's head, chest, and legs were damaged in the Institute's 40 mile-per-hour, or approximately 65 kilometer-per-hour, frontal barrier crash test.
Kia Motors America, Inc. said that it is in contact with the Institute to determine ways for improving the vehicle's performance.
