Ford Recalls 470,000 Escape SUVs

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that Ford Motor Company is recalling about 470,000 2002-2004 Ford Escape SUVs with a 3.0 liter engine in the U.S. for a faulty accelerator cable that can stick and cause the stopping distance of the vehicle to increase. The Escape's sibling, the Mazda Tribute, is being recalled as well. The total number of 2002-2004 Mazda Tributes to be recalled is about 121,000; no mention was made as to what part of the total were U.S. recalls.

Ford Motor Company owns about one-third of the shares of Mazda Motor Corporation.
