Auto on Info August 2004 Toyota Dominates AOI's Rosters of High Mileage Vehicles; Mercedes-Benz Places Second: Another AOI Manufacturer Durability Award for Each As of July 10, 2004, Toyota Motor Corporation had manufactured ten of the twenty highest mileage vehicles on Auto on Info's high mileage rosters. Mercedes-Benz placed second with a total of five of the top twenty. Toyota's ten vehicles included one Camry, one Corolla, one 4Runner, two Celicas, and five pickups. Of the 5 pickups, one was a T100 and one was a Tacoma. Mercedes-Benz's five vehicles included four 300Ds and one 240D. Toyota's dominance of the top twenty list has declined a bit from 2002, while Mercedes-Benz's total has improved. On July 10, 2002, Toyota had 12 of the top 20; on July 10, 2003, 11; on July 10, 2004, 10. On July 10, 2002, MB had 1 of the top 20; on July 10, 2003, 3; on July 10, 2004, 5. When the twenty highest mileage list is restricted to vehicles that are 20 years old or older, the list of 20 shrinks to 10 - 6 Toyotas and 4 Mercedes-Benz. Of the current list of the 20 highest mileage vehicles, 4 have mileage in excess of 500,000, 12 have mileage in excess of 400,000, and all have mileage in excess of 355,000.
