This year's Canadian Automobile Association's Top 10 list of motor vehicle models by ownership satisfaction provides further evidence of strong and continuing quality engineering and manufacturing preeminence by Toyota Motor Corporation. The results of its 2002 survey gave Toyota seven of the top ten spots, up one from last year, Honda two, down one from last year, and Nissan one, up one.
The 1997-2001 Camry and the 1998-2001 Sienna minivan, the 2003 Pyramid Award recipients for ownership satisfaction, occupy 1st and 2nd place, respectively. Other Toyota products in the top ten list are the 2000-2002 Echo, the 1993-1997 Corolla, the 1992-1996 Camry, the 1996-1999 Tercel, and the 1991-1995 Tercel. Honda products that made this venerable list are the 1998-2002 Accord and the 1997-2001 CR-V, the only SUV on the list. Nissan's model on the list is the 2000-2002 Sentra.
This year's list has some changes from last year's. The 1988-1991 Toyota Camry, number 9 in last year's list, is gone, as are the 1995-1999 Hyundai Accent, number 8 in last year's list, and the 1992-1995 Honda Civic, number 10 in last year's list. Also, the 1998-2002 Honda Accord replaced the 1994-1997 Honda Accord and is one notch higher in the standings.
The oldest models on this year's list are the 1991-1995 Toyota Tercel, the 1992-1996 Toyota Camry, and the 1993-1997 Toyota Corolla. Their respective Auto on Info Reliability Percentrank averages are .86, .93, and .91. Their corresponding AOI Reliability Grades - High Standards are B, A-, and A-.
No Big Three model, new or old, made this year's list or last year's list.
